It can have both an emotional and a physical impact on the viewer, boosting a dreary mood in the middle of winter or providing a calm, cool oasis on a hot summer's day. In short, when a room needs just that little extra help to become the space you love to use, the space in which you feel relaxed and peaceful, energized or inspired, color can be the ideal solution.

My color consultation services range from short, one- to two-hour "brainstorming" sessions, where we use your existing furnishings and accessories to discover a single room's perfect color, to designing color concepts for your entire house.

Space Planning
Space planning is one of the most important elements to good design. A room can be filled with the most beautiful furnishings available, but without giving them space to be comfortably viewed, used and enjoyed, a room will never feel quite "right". Space planning incorporates not only the placement of furnishings, but also an awareness of where best to let people (and pets!) navigate within and throughout the space with ease and economy of effort.

Lighting is an integral component of interior design, and should be given the same level of consideration as any other interior element.

My Lighting Design services range from short, two- to three-hour "brainstorming" sessions, where we maximize the use of your existing light sources and fixtures with your current furnishings and accessories, to employing AutoCAD drawings, professional lighting contractors, and the latest lighting products to create customized light schemes.

Furniture and Fixture Consulting/Purchasing
Furniture and accessories set the style and mood of a room. They affect the level of physical comfort people will have while utilizing the space. Of course, knowing how much impact furniture has can make choosing a new piece (or a whole houseful) of furniture more than a little overwhelming! It can be daunting trying to balance considerations of size, style, color, pattern, shape, comfort, features/accessories, not to mention concerns about time and budgets. With professional guidance and assistance, however, choosing new furniture and accessories can be a fun and rewarding experience.

My furniture and fixture consulting services range from short, two- to three-hour "brainstorming" sessions, where we evaluate your existing furnishings and accessories to help give direction to your future shopping efforts, to the design and implementation of complete furniture and accessory designs.

As an independent designer not affiliated with any particular store or product line, I can offer my clients purchasing services at a wide variety of area retail stores, as well as "trade only" furniture resources. I have access to numerous showrooms, catalogs, resources and discount pricing for furniture lines that may not be carried by local retail furniture stores. I am also a member of the Seattle Design Center (the Northwest's premier wholesale furniture resource), and am happy to escort my clients through the facility's vast number of showrooms.

AutoCAD Drafting
AutoCAD, a computer-aided drafting program, helps to provide construction drawings that are clearer, faster, and more easily adjusted than traditional hand drafting. Utilizing AutoCAD, I can easily provide my clients with multiple design options, furniture layouts, and precisely dimensioned shop drawings that can be provided directly to contractors. I can also coordinate with architectural and engineering professionals who can utilize these drawings as a starting point for their work.

My AutoCAD drafting services range from simple one-room space plans, to complex drawing sets that include floorplans, exterior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, furniture plans, interior elevations, cabinetry drawing sets and much more.
